In 1847 Liverpool was promoted the Liverpool Water Act, which allowed Liverpool to look for water outside of the Liverpool city limits.

The reservoir was built to last, the walls of the reservoir are four foot thick. The building is lined so that water could flow in but not flow out.

High Park Street Reservoir has been around for 153 years, and is situated just off Park Road.

If you look closely over the door of the Reservoir you can see the Liverbird.

The reservoir is no longer in use, and has been given to the Dingle community by North West Water to use as an exhibition and performance area.

There is an old myth in the Dingle, about Spring Heeled Jack, that he had been seen jumping on the roof of the Reservoir in 1904, it was to be one of the last sightings of the strange creature.
