"On the street party I am the one with the mouth stuffed. We all had an ice cream at this party This was a very special treat. Then we played racing games after the party."
The second picture is a holiday (the only one I had as a child) in Port Erin, on the Isle of Man.
We had to fill matresses with straw for our beds in a school hall, called paliases.
In the morning we had porrage from a huge cauldron heated over a charcoal fire.
I am third from left - next to the teacher.
The other is of our class in Mathew Arnold 1950, I am centre row, fourth from the right.
